Wellness Hills provides structured mental health treatment for adults in the Roxbury area, in person at our Chester office or by telehealth across New Jersey.
If you live in Roxbury Township, the name on your mail probably is not Roxbury. Most residents have Succasunna, Ledgewood, Kenvil, or Landing addresses, and people here tend to search for care by those names. This page serves all six of Roxbury’s communities.
Wellness Hills provides outpatient mental health treatment from nearby Chester, about 15 to 25 minutes south on US-206. Roxbury has counseling options in town, including in Succasunna. What Wellness Hills offers is specific: a licensed outpatient mental health program with three connected levels of care, weekly outpatient therapy, IOP, and PHP, so treatment can step up or down without changing providers. Psychiatric services are available at every level.
That range matters when weekly therapy is no longer enough. Whether the right next step is IOP, PHP, or a higher level of care is not something you have to figure out alone; an assessment determines which level fits.
If you already know you want to talk, call 973-532-5139 or verify your insurance online.
Care at Wellness Hills is organized by level, not one-size-fits-all. Where you start depends on an assessment of safety, current symptoms, and how much structure day-to-day life requires right now.
Whatever the level, treatment is built on the same clinical foundation: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills groups, and trauma-focused approaches, delivered through a mix of individual sessions, group work, and psychiatric care.
The level sets the intensity; the methods stay evidence-based throughout.
IOP can be appropriate when weekly appointments no longer provide enough support but work, family, and home life need to continue. Our intensive outpatient program runs in both daytime and evening tracks, a practical difference in a township where mornings mean traffic heading east on 80, 46, and 10.
PHP is the most intensive outpatient level Wellness Hills offers, a fit for someone who needs full daytime clinical support while still sleeping in their own bed. Learn more about the partial hospitalization program.
Ongoing individual care continues through our outpatient program, and psychiatric prescribing is available through medication management with Paula Weisman, PMHNP-BC.
From Succasunna or Ledgewood, take US-206 South from the Route 10 and US-46 corridor straight into Chester, where 206 becomes Main Street. The office is at 425 Main St, Floor 1, with free parking directly in front of the building, across from Chase Bank.
From Kenvil, US-46 East connects to 206 South. From Landing or Port Morris, Route 10 East or US-46 reaches the same corridor. Most of the township is 15 to 25 minutes away, roughly 7 to 10 miles.
Roxbury is built around its highways. Lake Hopatcong station in Landing has only limited peak-hour trains running east toward Hoboken and New York, and no rail line connects Landing to Chester. For days when the drive does not work, telehealth and the evening IOP track are available to New Jersey residents.
Most people who start at the IOP or PHP level here are working through anxiety, depression, or the effects of trauma, often alongside other conditions. Every level of care at Wellness Hills is built around specific mental health conditions and how they affect daily life.
Our programs include anxiety treatment, depression treatment, and trauma treatment, along with care for bipolar disorder, OCD, and ADHD treatment.
Each condition page explains how treatment works at every level, from weekly sessions through PHP. For everything we treat, see the full list of conditions.

Wellness Hills is an outpatient provider. We do not offer emergency care, inpatient hospitalization, residential treatment, or medical detox, and it matters to say so plainly.
Some situations call for a higher level of care than any outpatient program: immediate danger to yourself or others, being unable to stay safe at home, needing round-the-clock monitoring, or withdrawal that may be medically dangerous. In those situations, call 911 or 988 now rather than waiting for an outpatient admission.
In Morris County, crisis screening runs through Saint Clare’s in Denville at 25 Pocono Road, with a 24-hour line at 973-625-6160. Inpatient psychiatric care is provided at Saint Clare’s Behavioral Health in Boonton. Both are campuses of the same health system, and neither is in Roxbury. When hospital care comes first, our step-up coordination can help with the transition into and back out of it.

"I felt supported, understood, and never judged. The therapists here actually listen, and the groups helped me build confidence and skills I didn’t even know I needed. I’m healthier, calmer, and finally hopeful about my future. I’m so grateful for the care I received.”

Wellness Hills works with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, and other major plans. Before treatment begins, our admissions team verifies your benefits and gives you a clear picture of your plan’s network status, deductible, copays, and any authorization requirements.
Verification is not a guarantee of payment; the final coverage decision rests with your insurer, and admissions will explain what that means for your situation before you commit to anything. You can read more about insurance coverage or start now: Verify your insurance.
Getting the right help sometimes means calling someone other than us. The resources below are independent of Wellness Hills; some serve the whole state or county, while the last two have a direct presence in Roxbury. Different lines fit different moments, so it may be worth saving the ones that match your situation.
Most people who call us have never done anything like this before, and the questions they ask are practical before they are clinical. These are the four that come up most often from Roxbury residents. If anything isn’t covered here, admissions can answer on the first call.
No. Medication is one part of care for some people and not part of it for others. Psychiatric prescribing is available when it may help, and any decision about starting or adjusting medication is made together with a prescriber during your care.
Your care is confidential and protected by federal and New Jersey privacy law. Outside of narrow situations the law defines, such as safety emergencies or legal requirements, nothing about your treatment is shared without your consent. Some people also simply prefer getting care a town away from where they live and work; the Chester office is about 15 to 25 minutes from most of the township.
Yes. Roxbury Township comprises six communities, and mail here rarely says Roxbury. Succasunna, Ledgewood, Kenvil, and Landing addresses are all Roxbury Township, and so are Port Morris and Lower Berkshire Valley, where some mail even carries a Wharton address. Wellness Hills works with residents across the township, and telehealth is available anywhere in New Jersey.
Yes. Many residents spend the workday east on 80, 46, or 10, or take the limited peak-hour trains from Landing. The IOP evening track currently runs 5:45pm to 8:45pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and telehealth can cover the days the drive home runs late.
The first call is simpler than most people expect: a short, confidential conversation about what has been going on, a check of your insurance, and scheduling an assessment. That is the whole first step.
Whether you are calling from Succasunna, from another corner of the township, or considering telehealth from home, treatment is within reach for Roxbury residents. Call 973-532-5139 or verify your insurance online, and we will follow up.
